Scott Peterson Gives First Interview in 20 Years About Laci Peterson's Murder | E! News
For the first time in 20 years, convicted murderer Scott Peterson will give an interview for Peacock's new documentary, Face to Face with Scott Peterson. The docuseries from director Shareen Anderson, who previously helmed The Murder of Laci Peterson, will feature Scott's first on-camera interview. Anderson will sit down for "an exclusive series of intimate conversations" with the convicted killer, who is serving a life sentence, Variety reported.
In a highly publicized trial, a jury convicted Scott Peterson of murdering his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son. Prosecutors alleged that Scott killed Laci because he was having an affair with another woman, Amber Frey. They further alleged that he wanted to escape his marriage and impending fatherhood. Frey also revealed that she knew nothing about Scott's marriage and later assisted authorities in the investigation.
Peacock's new three-part documentary series, Face to Face with Scott Peterson, will examine recent developments in the case. Scott, who was initially sentenced to death and later to life in prison, may be eligible for early release. He has always maintained his innocence in the murders, and now the Los Angeles Innocence Project is representing the case. The organization said it is investigating Scott's "claim of actual innocence." They also believe new evidence could prove his innocence.
