Neve Campbell has revealed that her recurring character, Sidney Prescott, will play a leading role in the story of Scream 7.
Scream 7 | Carpenter Sisters (David Arquette speaking) Story NOT ignored?!?!?
Campbell last appeared in 2022's Scream, alongside franchise leads Courtney Cox and David Arquette. However, she did not appear in 2023's Scream VI due to a salary dispute between her and Paramount Pictures. They came to an agreement for her to star in Scream 7 following the departures of stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.
With director Christopher Landon also dropping out of the slasher sequel, the series has been reshuffled and Campbell's loyal series hero Sidney Prescott is not only back, but also taking center stage in a Scream movie.
Speaking to ET's Rachel Smith, Campbell revealed that the seventh installment will go back to basics and focus on Sidney Prescott, similar to Jamie Lee Curtis' return to the Halloween franchise in 2018.
