The Mind-Blowing Story of Kimberly Kessler
See No Evil on ID chronicles the brutal murder of hair salon worker Joleen Cummings and the investigation into her killer, Kimberly Kessler. The episode, "She's Fake," airs Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The official synopsis for the episode reads: "In Fernandina Beach, Florida, beautician Joleen Cummings disappears after an appointment, her last at Tangles Salon; CCTV footage shows her car in a remote parking lot in the middle of the night; a closer look reveals an unlikely suspect."
Joleen Cummings’ killer, Kimberly Kessler, now serving a life sentence, killed her in the salon where they worked. Prosecutors believed Kessler, who had faked her identity, committed the crime after Cummings threatened to investigate her. The incident occurred on May 12, 2018, at Tangles Hair Salon in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The victims’ families reported her missing two days later.
Detectives built a case against Kimberly Kessler using surveillance footage from several locations. Video evidence captured Kessler, who used the alias Jennifer Sybert, throwing garbage bags into a dumpster behind the salon. Walmart surveillance footage also showed Joleen Cummings’ killer buying cleaning supplies, gloves and an electric knife. Kessler was convicted of first-degree murder in 2021.
