Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte welcomed the move by former Senator Antonio Trillanes to file a drug trafficking case against him.

“This is a welcome development because the Filipino people were on Facebook for a short time and were able to create a long-term vibration,” Duterte said.

“This step enables us to address these allegations through the appropriate legal channels so that the truth will prevail,” he added.

Duterte said he has maintained his innocence and is confident the trial will clear his name.
