Fans of Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog will soon have the chance to own his rival thanks to a new Shadow the Hedgehog Lego set. The somewhat unusual set, set to release later this year, will see fans build the head of Dr. Robotnik's ultimate weapon.
LEGO Shadow the Hedgehog Escape (76995) – 2024 EARLY Set Review
Lego revealed the upcoming Shadow the Hedgehog set in an exclusive GameSpot article on Wednesday. The 720-piece set will release on Oct. 1 and will cost $70. It includes Shadow's head on a stand, a small plaque and three gold rings. There's also a Chaos Emerald hidden inside Shadow's head.
While it looks a little odd, the Shadow the Hedgehog set is certainly memorable and allows fans to pretend they’re Dr. Robotnik as they assemble the set. That, or they can pretend Sonic finally had enough of Shadow and decided to permanently fix the problem.
This particular depiction of Shadow is based on his debut appearance in 2001's Sonic Adventure 2 for the Sega Dreamcast. Sonic's edgier alternative will make an appearance in this fall's Sonic X Shadow Generations, which combines a remaster of Sonic Generations with new Shadow-focused content. He will also appear in the upcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which releases a few weeks after the Shadow the Hedgehog Lego set on October 25, with the film hitting theaters on December 20.
