A social media influencer has not escaped becoming a victim of human trafficking, Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco announced Tuesday (June 20).

Tansingco said three Filipino trafficking victims, all in their 20s and early 30s, arrived on June 15 after being repatriated from Myanmar.
“One of the victims was even an online influencer, with more than 10,000 subscribers,” he said.
As Filipinos continue to be victims of criminal gangs, the BI chief appealed to those who want to work abroad to do so “legally, through the Department of Migrant Workers.”
