Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday (July 31) filed a drug trafficking case with the Department of Justice (DOJ) against alleged members of the “Davao Group” in connection with the P6.4 billion shipment of shabu in 2017.
THE BIG STORY | Trillanes files drug trafficking charges against Pulong Duterte, others
“A drug trafficking charge has been filed against Pulong Duterte, Mans Carpio, Nicanor Faeldon, Allen Capuyan and Charlie Tan in the Davao Group drug trafficking syndicate,” Trillanes told reporters.
The former senator pointed out that this was the perfect time to file the case since former President Rodrigo Duterte is no longer in power and can no longer influence the case.
“Ngayon, so far, wala na tayong nakikitang ganon, kaya natin ito finile,” he said.
