Sony, which has made a $26 billion bid for Paramount with private equity firm Apollo Global, is the boss of the PlayStation console empire. Skydance is still in negotiations with Paramount after its exclusive negotiating window ended last weekend and has long been working to expand its gaming presence with a former PlayStation executive.
Amy Hennig, who led Sony Interactive Entertainment’s “Uncharted” games, was brought in by Skydance in 2019 to lead its New Media division for AAA games. So far, two games are in the works: “Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra” and an untitled “Star Wars” game. The former, due out in 2025, will focus on the characters Black Panther and Captain America, while the latter does not yet have a release date.
