Donald Trump 2024 Rally Party | South Park | Comedy Central Africa
"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone revealed in a new interview with Vanity Fair that their long-running animated series won't return until 2025, meaning "South Park" will skip the 2024 presidential election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The duo said the delay is somewhat "intentional" since they no longer have any interest in mocking Trump on the show, but Parker added that they're also "waiting for Paramount to figure things out."
Neither creator has indicated what Parker meant by Paramount, but the studio has been entertaining a proposed sale in recent months. Paramount Global is currently awaiting a sale to Skydance after the two companies reached a sales agreement in early July worth a reported $8 billion. Skydance says the deal has an enterprise value of $28 billion, with Skydance itself valued at $4.75 billion.
As for intentionally skipping the 2024 presidential election, Stone noted, "We've tried to put 'South Park' through four or five presidential elections, and it's so hard to — it's such a mental mess, and it seems like it's outsized important."
