Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk may have impressed during his tour of the set of Squid Game: The Challenge, but he also made a secret cameo in the series itself.

Daisy Lilley, director of unscripted series at Netflix in the UK, revealed that Dong-hyuk wore the iconic red uniform of a security guard and donned a mask on screen.

Lilley revealed the Easter egg during a session at the Edinburgh TV Festival, where Netflix and Squid Game: The Challenge producers Studio Lambert and The Garden reflected on the success of the BAFTA-winning series.
