Jodie Turner-Smith criticizes Disney for not taking a stronger stance against the cyberbullying that Star Wars: The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg faced.
Acolyte actor cries out racism, blames Disney for fan reaction
In a new interview, Turner-Smith, who played Mother Aniseya on the Disney+ series, criticized the studio for not protecting Stenberg.
Turner-Smith praised Stenberg, telling Glamour UK that her co-star had put "so much care, attention and love into" their character that she was disappointed the studio didn't support them when they faced negative backlash from Star Wars fans.
"They need to stop this thing where they don't say anything when people are being bombarded with racism and bullsh** online," Turner-Smith said. "It's just not fair to say nothing. It's really unfair."
