NBC has finally given a series order to the Stephen Amell-led Suits: LA spinoff, after the project was given a pilot order in February. This comes after the original series began to gain global recognition following its streaming debut on Netflix and Peacock.
Stephen Amell to star in NBC's 'Suits' spinoff, 'Suits: LA'
The Arrowverse veteran filmed the pilot last spring in Vancouver, which was directed and executive produced by Victoria Mahoney (The Old Guard 2). The upcoming series marks Amell's first major TV project after Starz canceled his wrestling drama Heels after two seasons.
“Suits: LA centers on Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor in New York who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” the logline reads. “His firm is at a crisis point and to survive, he must embrace a role he has held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a cast of characters whose loyalties to both Ted and each other are tested as they are forced to intertwine their personal and professional lives. All while events from years prior slowly unfold, causing Ted to leave everything and everyone he loves behind.”
The spinoff hails from original series creator Aaron Korsh, who serves as executive producer with David Bartis, Doug Liman and Gene Klein. In addition to Amell's Ted Black, the series stars Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, Troy Winbush as Kevin, Alice Lee as Leah, Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen, John Amos, Victoria Justice as Dylan Pryor and Kevin Weisman as Lester Thompson.
