The controversy over behind-the-scenes behaviour on British show Strictly Come Dancing continues. A former contestant said this weekend that she raised concerns during her time on the show but was “manipulated to make it seem normal”.

TV presenter Laura Whitmore did not name the person she was complaining about, but she was on the show in 2016, when she was working with Italian professional Giovanni Pernice. In an interview with The Irish Times newspaper this weekend, she said that “it’s all come out now, things I tried to talk about eight years ago.”
Whitmore could not comment on the content of her complaints because, she explained, “they are still being processed,” but she stressed that she had raised her concerns at the time.
She told The Irish Times that she was either not listened to when she tried to complain or was manipulated to make it seem normal.
