Sunny Episode 6 Review | Summary & Analysis

In episode 6, Noriko is arrested on purpose after pretending to steal something from a convenience store. When Suzie comes to her rescue later in the episode, she refuses to leave, claiming that she has made friends in prison. In the earlier episodes, the series has established Noriko's loneliness and the impact that the loss of her son and grandson has had on her. With her old friends shunning her, it seems that she is actively seeking out new friends, even if they are criminals.

Suzie accompanies Mixxy to the police to report Sunny's kidnapping, but the police officer refuses to write a report after realizing that Sunny is not a person, but a homebot. Through a marketing mascot, the Yakuza contact Suzie, give her a piece of Sunny, and warn her that if she does not follow instructions from now on, she will receive a piece of the homebot every hour. After Mixxy leaves because she has an important photo shoot at work, men in a sweet potato truck kidnap Suzie and take her to Hime, who wants Suzie to help her break into Masa's computer. Faced with the threat of torture, Suzie helplessly claims that she does not know the password.

Eventually, Suzie uses the name of Masa's biological father. While it doesn't quite work, it does cause the computer to ask for a hand gesture authentication. Suddenly, Suzie realizes what the answer is. She flips Hime the finger, and then the computer, and it unlocks. Suzie also learns that Hime's father has passed away, and she learns that there is an internal struggle within the organization over who will succeed him. When she says these things, it upsets Hime to the point where it affects her.
