EXCLUSIVE: Jamie Lloyd, director of the Broadway musical Sunset Boulevard, helmed by a radiant Nicole Scherzinger who plays Norma Desmond, is moving into the film business, revealing to Deadline that his London-based Jamie Lloyd Company “will create a separate film division and work with new partners in the film industry.”
Lloyd spoke to us as he prepared to fly to New York this weekend to oversee rehearsals for Sunset Boulevard, which begin Monday.
He was also concerned about a fire that had ripped through the roof of the west wing of the Grade II listed Somerset House, a mighty 18th-century palace that stretches from the Embankment to the Aldwych, where the Jamie Lloyd Company has a small suite of production offices. The fire was contained, although it is not yet known how much smoke and water damage the JLC offices have sustained.
