The global hit apocalyptic K-drama Sweet Home recently wrapped up. Season 3, the series’ final season, premiered on Netflix on Friday, July 19, 2024. The drama is an adaptation of the popular webtoon of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-Chan. As a result, fans are curious to see if the Netflix series’ ending will be similar or different from the original webtoon.

The Sweet Home K-drama follows the main plot line of the webtoon, which revolves around the apocalypse, monsters, and the main character Hyun-Su. However, the series gives the audience a different ending than that of the original webtoon. It brings a significant change in Hyun-Su's storyline. In the end of the webtoon, the character Ji-Su plays a significant role. However, the show depicted that the character, played by Park Gyu-Young, was killed in episode 3 of season 2. The characters Eun-Hyeok (Lee Do-Hyun) and Eun-Yoo (Go Min-Si) also get a different ending.
At the end of the original webtoon, Ji-Soo tries to turn Hyun-Su back to his human form, but fails. When everyone is sent out of the Green Home building, Eun-Hyuk turns into a monster, thinking he can save Hyun-Su. Instead, he turns into a strange mass and sucks Hyun-Su into it.
Then, at the end of the Sweet Home webtoon, two mysterious cocoons suddenly appear. One of them hatches and Hyun-Su comes out. After that, he finds Ji-Soo’s phone and completely collapses. In the epilogue of the webtoon, readers can see a post-apocalyptic world. It is extremely cold and completely covered in snow. Ji-Soo has been living in a military camp with the other survivors. Suddenly, they see Hyun-Su walking barefoot to the gate of the camp. They all run to meet him. It ends with Hyun-Su finding a brand new purpose, family, and life.
