Swerve Strickland has hinted at a potential alliance with former WWE Superstar MVP as AEW WrestleDream 2024 approaches. Strickland, a former AEW World Champion, has not appeared on television since his match at All Out, where he faced Hangman Page in a brutal Lights Out Steel Cage match.

The match saw Hangman Page finally secure a victory over Strickland. Following the match, Strickland’s manager, Prince Nana, gave an update on the former’s health. He stated that while Strickland is working hard every day, he has not been medically cleared to compete, but is determined to return.
MVP suddenly interrupted, criticizing Nana for not managing Strickland effectively and claiming that Nana was too distracted by the dancing. He gave Nana a business card and suggested they have a business meeting once Strickland was ready to return.
