Hidden Pictures' Todd Lieberman will produce, with the company's Carly Kleinbart Elter overseeing the project. Feigco's Feig and Laura Fischer will also produce. Sweeney and Seyfried will serve as executive producers alongside Alex Young and McFadden.
In the film, Sweeney plays Millie, a struggling woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housekeeper for Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew, a posh, wealthy couple. She soon discovers that the family's secrets are far more dangerous than her own.
"I'm thrilled to have The Housemaid join our upcoming slate," said Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. "A great filmmaker and a great cast with a great script based on a great book is a great place to start. My previous experiences working with Paul and Amanda have been nothing short of spectacular, and Sydney is as talented and compelling as they come."
