Hollywood writers optimistic about preliminary agreement for new 3-year contract
The deadline was looming, but the Teamsters and the studios reached a deal.
After a long, drawn-out negotiation that left many executives and union leaders on edge, Teamsters Local 399 announced just before midnight Saturday that the Hollywood Basic Crafts and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers had reached an agreement.
A tentative agreement, that's what it is. A tentative agreement that sources on both sides confirm, but the details are still being kept very close to the proverbial chest for now.
