The tension between The New Day members Xavier Woods and former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston continues to build. This week on WWE RAW, Xavier Woods took on Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship.

Last week, Kofi Kingston informed Xavier Woods that he had been offered an Intercontinental title match against Jey Uso. Woods expressed his displeasure that Kingston was given the match instead. However, Kingston clarified that he had passed on the opportunity to Woods and that Jey Uso had accepted.
Woods was excited about the opportunity and believed he could defeat Jey Uso for the title. However, during their match on the final edition of WWE RAW, Woods struggled to gain momentum and lost to Jey Uso. Woods felt frustrated after the loss, but Jey Uso helped him up anyway. After shaking hands with Kofi Kingston, Jey Uso extended his hand to Woods, who ignored it and walked away.
