In episode 8 of The Secret of Us, Lada reflects on the fight with her mother, Russamee. Earn checks with the former, but she says that she is fine. Earn asks Lada: "You want to reconcile with your mother, right?" The latter answers that she has done a lot for her mother and that now it is time to do things for herself. Earn then tells Lada that she will always be by her side. After that, the latter gets a call from her father, Phuthares, about her mother's health.

Phuthares tells Lada that Russamee is suffering from end-stage heart failure and also suffers from Intractable Ventricular Arrhythmia. The former tells her that her mother's health is deteriorating. When Lada asks Phuthares why Russamee never told her about her condition, he replies that she probably didn't want her daughter to worry. The former checks on her sick mother and holds her hand while she is unconscious.
