In episode 7 of The Secret of Us, Lada asks Nu what he agreed with her mother. The latter answers that he did not know that Russamee would announce their marriage. When Lada asks why he went, Nu answers that he wants to marry her. However, the former says that she has never loved him romantically. Lada says that she already has someone she loves after Nu tells her that he can wait for her. Despite this, the latter claims that they cannot avoid it because the elders want them to get married.

Afterwards, Lada confronts Russamee, saying that she is not an "object". She adds that her mother cannot do whatever she wants with her. Russamee claims that she has the right to choose what is best for her child. However, Lada says that she will not agree because she does not want to marry Nu. The former begs her mother not to force her after Russamee asks if she can marry the person she loves. The latter is adamant and says that her daughter has no right to question the decision.
