Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino has called on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to make public the preliminary agreement between the Philippines and China on the resupply missions for Philippine troops stationed in Ayungin Shoal.

“While this deal may help ease tensions, the government must also assure our people that our sovereignty has not been compromised,” said Tolentino, chairman of the Special Commission on the Philippine Maritime and Admiralty Zones.
The DFA previously announced that it has reached a preliminary agreement with China on the supply of Philippine troops aboard the BRP Sierra Madre, which is moored at Ayungin Shoal.
“It is important that we can provide food and medicine for our soldiers,” the senator said.
