EXCLUSIVE: The Acolyte story will not continue as Lucasfilm has opted not to move forward with a second season of the Star Wars spin-off starring Amandla Stenberg, sources tell Deadline.
The decision comes more than a month after the eight-episode first season of the series, from creator, director, executive producer and showrunner Lesley Headland, concluded on Disney+.
The news isn’t entirely surprising. The Acolyte performed well with critics (78% on Rotten Tomatoes), but divided Star Wars fans, which was reflected in its overall ratings.
