Comedian/Actress Carol Burnett Discusses Palm Royale's 11 Emmy Nominations
General editor of the variety
What a pinch-me moment for 'The Bear' star Liza Colón-Zayas. After decades of making her mark in stage work, one-off TV roles and the occasional film, she's now been nominated for an Emmy. She's also nominated for a supporting role in comedy alongside icons like Carol Burnett and Meryl Streep.
I couldn’t help but wonder what it’s like for a working actor like Colón-Zayas to be recognized alongside these legends. (The closest I’ve come was being nominated for an LA Press Club Award in the same category as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He won, of course.) So I had to get Colón-Zayas on the phone to hear what it means to her to compete with some of the greatest performers ever to grace the screen.
