The Boys season 4 finale has a new title, following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
How Trump's Assassination Attempt Changed The Boys Season 4 Finale
The Season 4 finale was originally titled “Assassination Run.” Though the episode was written and filmed in 2023, producers at Amazon, Sony, and The Boys changed the title to “Season Finale Four” and added a trigger warning because the show features political violence similar to the real-life assassination attempt in Pennsylvania this past weekend.
“The season finale of The Boys contains scenes of fictional political violence that some viewers may find disturbing, particularly in light of the injuries and tragic loss of life during the assassination attempt on former President Trump,” Amazon said in a statement. “The Boys is a fictional series filmed in 2023, and any scene or plot line similarities to these real-world events are coincidental and unintended.”
Amazon also added “viewer discretion advised” text before the episode starts on Prime Video.
