If you go to CES in person, there is always a big TV screen with incredibly high resolution somewhere. That is always impressive.
AMP Agency – 60 Second Tech: The Screens of CES
This year, CES is online, and there’s no giant screen to be seen. But there are still plenty of strange displays, from LG’s “tiniest” OLED to Mercedes’ 55-inch dashboard-shaped “hyperscreen.” Let’s take a look at the screens from CES.
When you think of screens, cars might not be the first place you think. CES has always had a huge car section, and this year we have a huge crossover between cars and screens. Cadillac put a 33-inch display behind the steering wheel of its Lyriq EV, and Mercedes managed to cram in a 55-inch monster.
Now, these cars, like virtually every other consumer gadget, from microwaves to cameras, are controlled by touchscreens. Gone are the memorable knobs and dials of the past: buttons you click and turn without looking. Instead, you have to look away from the road to activate a useless function, while a distracted child steps unnoticed in front of you.
