Jon Stewart Takes on RNC and Trump Assassination Attempt | The Daily Show
Comedy Central's The Daily Show had a full week of shows planned from the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee from July 15-18, culminating in a live show on the closing night, Thursday, May 18, hosted by Jon Stewart.
In response to the assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Saturday and its aftermath, Comedy Central is adapting its coverage of Indecision 2024.
There will be no broadcasts from Milwaukee. The Daily Show will disappear on Monday, July 15, as the writers and crew, some of whom had already traveled to Wisconsin, make the logistical change to air Tuesday through Thursday episodes from the show’s New York studio. Jon Stewart is expected to be heavily involved and is in talks to take over as host on Tuesday.
