Japanese director Tanigaki Kenji has wrapped production in Bangkok, Thailand, on his upcoming film “The Furious,” which is intended to be an elite-level Asian martial arts action film.

The film, written by Mak Tin Shu, is about a simple trader (played by Chinese star Xie Miao) who navigates a complex web of criminals and evil agents in a desperate attempt to win back his kidnapped daughter at all costs.

The film is produced by the region's top producer Bill Kong ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," "Hero"), Frank Hui and Shan Tam, and features a pan-Asian cast including Indonesian Joe Taslim ("The Raid," "Mortal Kombat"), Thai star Jeeja Yanin ("Chocolate"), Yang Enyu, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga and Yayan Ruhian.
