Thelma – Official Trailer | June Squibb, Richard Roundtree, Parker Posey, Fred Hechinger
The film, directed by Yassir Lester (The Carmichael Show) and Isaiah Lester (Black-ish), will be in theaters and on-demand on November 1, following its premiere at SXSW.
The Gutter watches as oft-fired Walt (Moore) gets a job as a bartender and boot stepper at his local bowling alley, AlleyCatz, and feels like he's finally found a place to call home. When financial troubles threaten AlleyCatz, Walt is pressured into accepting his role as the greatest bowler to ever walk the planet by former pro bowler and current champion drinker Skunk (Carden). As Walt's penchant for big checks and straight-talking style dominate the pro tour, his adversaries, including ratings-obsessed news anchor Angelo Powers (Paul Reiser) and recently retired bowling legend Linda "The Crusher" Curson (Sarandon), angrily attempt to snuff out Walt's flame before it burns too bright.
Written by Yassir Lester and produced by Liz Destro, the film also stars Jay Ellis (Top Gun: Maverick), Kim Fields (The Upshaws), Jackée Harry (Sister, Sister), Paul Scheer (Twisters), Adam Pally (Mr. Throwback) and more. Executive producers are Jared Hess, Helen Estabrook and Village Roadshow's Tristen Tuckfield, Jillian Apfelbaum and Nic Gordon.
