Inside Cody Wish's Touching Connection With Cody Dorman | NBC Sports
EXCLUSIVE: Director Jeff Celentano and producer Warren Ostergard, who recently collaborated on the Dennis Quaid-starring film The Hill, have reunited to launch Enliven Content, a film and TV production company focused on “real, inspiring and uplifting stories.”
The company's first development project is Cody's Wish, the true story of champion racehorse Cody's Wish and his endearing bond with his namesake, Cody Dorman, a Kentucky teenager with a rare genetic condition and a passion for horse racing.
Dorman first met the horse during a Make-A-Wish visit to Gainsborough Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, when Cody’s Wish was a 5-month-old foal in 2018. The animal, who was not named at the time, reportedly walked up to Dorman’s wheelchair and laid his head in the boy’s lap. Dorman had the same reaction during subsequent visits, and the horse never failed to acknowledge the boy’s presence. When it came time to name the horse, Cody’s Wish took on the title—in honor of Dorman and the organization that connected the two.
