Season 2 of “The Irrational” will no longer premiere on October 1 as planned.

With the vice presidential debate between Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) scheduled for Oct. 1, NBC is moving the second season launch of "The Irrational" to a week later, on Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. It will be preceded by a two-hour edition of "The Voice." It was previously reported that the first debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will take place on Sept. 10.
"The Irrational" originally debuted on NBC in September 2023 to solid ratings, and was renewed for Season 2 in November alongside the series "Found" starring Shanola Hampton. The show is led by Jesse L. Martin and also stars Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz and Arash DeMaxi.
According to the official series description, it follows "world-renowned behavioral science professor Alec Mercer (Martin) as he lends his unique expertise to high-stakes cases and mysteries. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding human behavior leads him to work with a variety of clients, ranging from the FBI to everyday people caught in perplexing situations who are desperate for answers. With the help of his trusted team and experiments in the social sciences, Alec solves crimes and uncovers the truth to answer intriguing and irrational questions."
