Exclusive – Preparing for the Conventions: The Daily Show
General editor of the variety
CBS' “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and Comedy Central's “The Daily Show” travel to Chicago for a week of shows during the Democratic National Convention next week. On the agenda: a Kamala Harris biopic produced by “The Daily Show” team and a guest list for “The Late Show” featuring Hillary Rodham Clinton and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The two shows’ DNC plans eclipse what they were ultimately able to do last month during the Republican National Convention. Notably, “The Daily Show” had planned to be based out of Milwaukee that week, but then the assassination attempt on Donald Trump changed those plans. Instead, “The Daily Show” canceled its Monday broadcast that week and stuck to its usual home base in New York City for the rest of the week.
