Emma Corrin, Kodi Smit McPhee and More Join Cate Blanchett in West End's 'The Seagull' as Play Sets
Emma Corrin, who fresh from her role as villain Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine, will star opposite Cate Blanchett in the highly anticipated new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull at London's Barbican Theatre in 2025.
Another addition to an already sizzling cast is Kodi Smit-McPhee, who shot to fame in Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog. He also appears opposite a glowing Angelina Jolie in Netflix’s awards season nominee Maria.
It’s a family reunion of sorts for Blanchett and McPhee. They play mother and son in Alfonso Cuarón’s brilliant seven-part Apple TV+ drama Disclaimer , premiering on the streamer on October 11. The two Australian-born actors also play related characters in The Seagull , with Blanchett taking on the role of theatrical grande dame Irina Arkadina and McPhee playing her son Konstantin.
