German Films said it has received 13 film submissions for this year’s international Oscar race. The films include Mohammad Rasoulof’s Cannes Competition title The Seed Of The Sacred Fig and RP Kahl’s The Investigation. The Seed of the Sacred Fig follows Iman, a judge at Tehran’s Revolutionary Court who struggles with distrust and paranoia as nationwide political protests grow. The selection of Germany’s entry will take place in Munich on August 21-22. See the full list of German films here.
