All six episodes of The Sticky will be available to stream on Prime Video starting December 6. The series is inspired by the true story of the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist, which made headlines in 2012 after more than $18 million worth of maple syrup was stolen from Quebec's national reserves.
The series is written and created by showrunners Ed Herro and Brian Donovan, who serve as executive producers alongside Curtis. It is executive produced by Jonathan Levine, Gillian Bohrer, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, Michael Dowse and Lauren Grant. It is produced by Blumhouse Television, Comet Pictures, Megamix and Sphere Media.
"The series follows Ruth Landry, a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves," the official logline reads. "She teams up with a hot-tempered Boston mafioso and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard to pull off a multi-million dollar heist of Quebec's maple syrup surplus."
