The 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival presented by Rogers has established their Wavelengths and Classics section. Wavelengths features 11 films, and 3 short programs and a special in-cinema looped presentation featuring various works by established authors and emerging talent.

Notable this year include the North American premieres of Roberto Minervini’s Civil War epic The Damned, Miguel Gomes’ black-and-white film Grand Tour and the completion of Wang Bing’s documentary trilogy Youth (Hard Times) and Youth (Homecoming) about Chinese sweatshop workers. The filmmaker began his chronicle with Youth (Spring), which screened at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and TIFF.
