Kamala Harris introduces running mate Tim Walz at raucous rally in Philadelphia
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made his debut on the national stage as a vice presidential candidate in a speech in which he emphasized his small-town background and values, contrasting them with a "weird" and "creepy" Donald Trump and JD Vance.
“I just have to say it, you know and you feel it, these guys are creepy and just weird as hell,” Walz said before an energetic gathering in Philadelphia, repeating words that have gone viral over the past two weeks and helped him to reach the top of the vice presidential election.
His speech in Philadelphia, just hours after Vice President Kamala Harris announced him as her Democratic running mate, was a prime opportunity for him to introduce himself. The major cable news networks all aired the speech without interruption, along with Harris's and Gov. Josh Shapiro, who was passed over as a possible running mate.
