Paris 2024 Olympic Games LIVE: Athletes leave the Olympic Village to travel to the closing ceremony
Tom Cruise made his appearance at the Paris Olympics today with a spectacular stunt that looked straight out of Mission Impossible.
The Top Gun star has been a regular guest at the XXXIII Olympic Games since the opening ceremony on July 26 and was the turning point in the handover from Paris to Los Angeles in 2028. Daniel Craig, the late Queen Elizabeth II and London 2012 may be the ones to go there disagree, but Cruise's long-awaited stunt was a straight-up Hollywood stunt.
Earlier spotted on the edge of the Stade de France as the two-and-a-half-hour closing ceremony erupted with Phoenix and athletes storming the stage, Cruise's descent came just after HER's performance of the Star Spangled Banner. That soulful rendition of the national anthem was preceded by the presentation of the Olympic flag to LA Mayor Karen Bass and Simone Biles.
