Tom Cruise got kneed in the face by Gina Gershon during love scene for 'Cocktail' #shorts
Gina Gershon appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and was asked by host Andy Cohen if she had ever dated Tom Cruise. The two actors had starred together in 1988’s “Cocktail,” in which Gershon recalled nearly breaking Cruise’s nose while filming a sex scene. The moment happened to be the first time Gershon had filmed a love scene in a movie. The actor said Cruise “totally” took care of her during filming.
"He was a gentleman," Gershon said. "It starts under the covers and I told him I was ticklish. I was like, 'No, no, don't ever do that.' All of a sudden he wanted a reaction, and he grabbed my stomach and I kneed him right in the nose. I was like, 'Oh my God! I just broke Tom Cruise's nose.' He was like, 'No, you told me. It's my fault.' He was so protective of me."
"Cocktail" starred Cruise as a business student who becomes a bartender to make ends meet. Bryan Brown and Elisabeth Shue co-starred in the film, which received negative reviews but was a box office success, earning $171 million worldwide. The film came out as Cruise's star power in Hollywood was skyrocketing after "Risky Business" and "Top Gun."
