Ken Jautz, who has been with CNN for 36 years and was part of the leadership team, will leave at the end of this year.
CNN CEO Jeff Zucker resigns over sexual relationship with CEO
CNN Worldwide CEO Mark Thompson said in a memo to employees that Jautz “has decided he is ready for a new chapter.”
Jautz most recently served as executive vice president, operations. He was also a member of “the quad,” one of four interim leaders of the network following the departure of Chris Licht and the arrival of Thompson months later.
Thompson wrote: "It's hard to capture the impact Ken has had on our brand. He's covered many of the international stories that put CNN on the map, including the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. During the First Gulf War, he was instrumental in making CNN the first network to broadcast live from a war zone. He helped organize coverage of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and other domestic stories."
