Netflix declined to comment on the casting.
The film’s title and plot are being kept under wraps, though sources have told Deadline that the film will be set in the White House amid a national crisis. The project will mark Bigelow’s first feature since the 2017 awards-winning thriller Detroit that was produced and distributed by Annapurna Pictures.
Letts is fresh off his Emmy-nominated performance in the HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, where he played coach Jack McKinney. He can now be seen in the Peacock series Mr. Throwback, starring Stephen Curry. The series premieres on August 8.
