Adrianna Mitchell has been cast in the upcoming Tracy Morgan comedy series “Crutch” at Paramount+, Variety has learned exclusively.
Comedy fans rejoice! #TracyMorgan is starring in a brand new spinoff of #TheNeighborhood!
Mitchell is the latest addition to the series cast, joining the recently announced Jermaine Fowler. The show was originally announced in May with Morgan in the lead role and was set in the same world as the CBS comedy "The Neighborhood." Production begins this month in New York.
The official logline for the series reads: "Francois 'Frank' Crutchfield (Morgan), who calls himself 'Crutch,' is a brash but beloved Harlem store owner whose world is turned upside down when his intellectual son (Fowler) and free-spirited daughter (Mitchell) move back into the family home."
Mitchell's character is named Jamilah. She is described as "a free-spirited naturalista with a dry wit and a sharp tongue. Notoriously fickle, the most consistent part of her life has been her 10-year marriage and the cozy suburban life she's built for her husband and two kids in the Minneapolis suburbs. But when that starts to unravel, she finds herself and her kids Lisa, 12, and Mase, 9, back in Harlem, on Crutch's doorstep."
