"Your grandfather always wanted me to fly," Sunja (Minha Kim) tells her son Noa Baek (Kang Tae ju) in the clip as a kite flies over the fields where Sunja and her sister-in-law Kyunghee (Eunchae Jung) work. Sunja and Kyunghee look up to see bomber plans flying in large numbers toward their hometown of Osaka, Japan.
Rosé of BLACKPINK's cover of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" begins with Koh Hansu (Lee Minho) confronting Sunja after 14 years and telling her that he never forgot where she was. In addition to being featured in the trailer, the cover will also be featured in the Season 2 finale.
Based on Min Jin Lee’s New York Times bestseller of the same name, Pachinko is a sweeping and deeply moving story of love and survival across four generations, told through the eyes of matriarch Sunja. Season 2 of the Apple TV+ series premieres one episode on Friday, August 23, with episodes scheduled to air weekly through October 11.
