The first reactions and reviews of Transformers One are going around and are quite positive. Critics who saw the first screenings of the animated film called it the "best" and "most interesting" film in the entire Transformers franchise.
I'm watching *TRANSFORMERS* for the first time!
Paramount recently held private screenings of Transformers One for critics, and their initial response has been extremely positive. The film is scheduled for release on September 20, 2024, and will be the first animated Transformers film since 1986's The Transformers: The Movie to debut in U.S. theaters.
Matt Neglia of Next Best Picture described Transformers One as the best Transformers he's ever seen. "I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but TRANSFORMERS ONE is by far the best Transformers film to date," he wrote. "The trailers don't do it justice. Rich in character and emotion with a deep respect for the lore, it tells the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who once tragically went from brothers to enemies. Josh Cooley directs this animated film to perfection, down to the final comedy and action sequence, all supported by an epic score and a stellar voice cast. One of the real surprises of the year for me."
According to Russ Milheim of The Direct, the film was pleasantly surprising. “The animation was gorgeous and immensely satisfying to watch,” he explained in his X (formerly Twitter) post. “The art direction and world-building were generally fantastic.” Milheim also claimed that Transformers One was “the most interesting Transformers project” he had ever seen.
