Foo Fighters vs. Trump: Music Battle! #FooFighters #Trump #MusicRights
As Donald Trump's campaign continues to face criticism from artists who use their songs at rallies without permission, the campaign is fighting back at Foo Fighters, alleging that the band never allowed their song "My Hero" to be used at a recent event.
“My Hero” was played at a Trump rally in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday when former President Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was introduced shortly after suspending his campaign. Foo Fighters responded to the use of their song on X (formerly Twitter), answering “no” to a user question about whether they had given Trump’s campaign permission.
A Foo Fighters spokesperson reiterated to Variety that the band did not authorize the use. "Foo Fighters was not asked for permission, and if they had been, they would not have granted it," the statement said. "Also, any royalties received as a result of this use will be donated to the Harris/Walz campaign."
