Aug 3 (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has offered to debate Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris on Fox News on Sept. 4. Harris' campaign responded by saying Trump is trying to pull out of a debate that was to air on ABC.
Trump proposes three debates against Harris in September
The rules will be similar to the first debate with President Joe Biden, who has since dropped his re-election bid, Trump said in a message on Truth Social on Friday night. But this time, it would have a “packed arena audience” and take place in the pivotal state of Pennsylvania, Trump said.
Michael Tyler, Harris' campaign communications director, said: "Donald Trump is scared and is trying to back out of the debate that he has already agreed to and is running straight to Fox News to take him out."
Trump and Biden had agreed to a second debate on September 10 on ABC News. The former president had suggested moving that debate to Fox.
