“I know very well, and Venezuela is currently ruled by a dictator,” Trump said in an interview on the livestreaming platform Kick.
After the elections on July 28, Venezuela's Electoral Council declared President Maduro, in power since 2013, the winner with 51% of the vote. The opposition accused him of fraud.
The opposition says its own detailed count shows opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez likely received 67% of the vote.
