How INSIDE OUT 2 Became the HIGHEST GROSSING Animated Film of All Time… #shorts
UPDATE: Universal/Warner Bros/Amblin's Twisters topped projections domestically this session. While the international box office results are pretty close to what we saw, there's no denying that this is very much a domestic film.
The worldwide cume, fueled largely by the domestic heartland’s surge this weekend, is now at $123.2 million. Universal has domestic rights and Warner handles overseas, where it eked out $27.1 million from 76 markets this frame. That’s after an early release in 38 markets last session. This weekend saw an overall 30 percent drop overseas, for an offshore cume of $42.7 million.
Latin America had great holds with Colombia (+8%), Argentina (+1%), Mexico (-22%), Peru (-23%) and Brazil (-31%). Australia was down only 21%. Japan and Korea are yet to be released.
