25th Anniversary for Univision's Jorge Ramos
Jorge Ramos, a news anchor and perhaps the best-known Spanish-language television journalist in the United States who has interviewed top politicians and reported on major world events in a multi-decade career, will leave his home base at Univision at the end of 2024.
The host hinted at new plans to come. "This is not goodbye. I will continue to host 'Noticiero Univision' until December and then I will share my professional plan," Ramos said in a statement Monday. "I am extremely grateful for these four decades at Univision and very proud to be part of a team that has built strong leadership over the years."
Noticias Univision, the news division of the Spanish-language network that is part of TelevisaUnivision, said both the anchor and the company "have mutually agreed not to renew their soon-to-expire contract agreement." Ramos will continue in his current roles until after the 2024 presidential election.
